Description

The railings at the entrance to Shotesham Park date from around 1790 and are likely associated with Sir John Soane. They are made of iron and sit on a gault brick plinth, featuring a curved design. The railings are simple spear types with occasional scrolled braces at the rear. There is one surviving gate pier that has a cage type design with bars arranged in a lozenge pattern, topped with a pine cone finial.
