Description
This cowshed, dating from the 18th century, is located 10 meters north-west of the barn at Gowthorpe Manor House. It is constructed of flint with some brick and has a pantile roof with gable parapets. The gable on the south side was formerly rendered and features a fire insurance shield. There is a doorway to the right. Inside, the walls are made of various materials, including flint, header brick, and herringbone brick. The interior has a complete loft floor supported by large ties and bridging beams that have lambs tongue stops. The roof is a three-tier butt purlin design with two collars. This structure is included for its group value with the nearby barn.
