Description

This is a late 17th-century threshing barn located 85 meters north-east of Holverston Hall. It is constructed with a timber frame and wattle and daub infill, topped with a corrugated asbestos roof. The south side features a 20th-century door and glazing in a central full-height opening, which is partly hidden by a 20th-century sloping outshut roof supported by timber posts. There is an opposing entrance on the north transept. The barn has a gabled roof. Inside, the timber framing consists of thin scantling, with straight braces placed at intervals between the wall studs and tie beams supported by arched braces. It also includes two tiers of butt purlins and collars.
