Description
The Normans is a farmhouse dating from the early 18th century, which was modified, enlarged, and altered in the mid-19th century. It is constructed of whitewashed brick and features a roof made of black glazed pantiles. The east front has two storeys, with much of the earlier brickwork visible, maintaining an 18th-century appearance with two external stacks on either side of the facade. A thin platband is interrupted by a 19th-century crenellated one-storey canted bay, a gabled late 20th-century glazed extension, and a 20th-century gabled porch leading to a 20th-century door. The first floor has three 19th-century casements and is adorned with a dentiled and saw-toothed eaves cornice. The gabled roof has a central ridge stack, and the corners of the elevation feature rusticated quoins, while the gable heads are stepped. The west front displays similar architectural details along with a large three-storey 19th-century porch that has a stepped gable head.
