Description

This barn, located 40 meters south of Church Farmhouse, dates from around 1600. It is constructed with a timber frame and is weatherboarded, topped with a roof made of corrugated angulin. The barn features full height double timber doors on the right, with a sloping transept at the rear. The timber frame is close studded, and it includes tie beams supported by arched braces, which connect to wall posts from the principal studs. The structure has diminished principals and two tiers of purlins; the lower tier is staggered and butted, while the upper tier is clasped. Additionally, there are collars and windbracing, some of which are curved.
