Description

Church Cottages, located on Church Lane in Poringland, are two houses dated 1693. They are constructed from roughcast and colourwashed brick, topped with a plain tile roof. The cottages are two storeys high, and No. 10 features a blocked window opening on its facade. A platband runs along the first floor and continues into the north gable. The architectural details are from the late 20th century. The cottages have a bell-based gabled roof with internal gable end stacks, and the north gable head is shaped above an eaves line platband. The tie irons in the gable head are formed into the numerals "1693". To the south, No. 6 Church Lane, built in the 1860s, abuts the south gable and is not included in this listing.
