Description
Micawber's Tavern is a public house dating from the 19th century, with some alterations made in the 20th century. It is constructed of painted brick and features plain and pantiles. The building is situated on a corner site, with a long extension along Pottergate.
The Pottergate facade has two storeys and three widely spaced first floor windows. There is a corner entry that includes simple pilasters and flanking mullion and transom windows with arched transoms. An off-centre door is set in a plain surround, and there is a large garage opening at the extreme left. The building has sash windows throughout and a saw-tooth cornice.
On the Cow Hill facade, there are two dormer gables with shaped bargeboards, decorated ridge-tiles, and a half-hipped roof on the Pottergate elevation.
