Description
No. 7 Pottergate is a former house now used as shops, dating from the 17th century with a 20th-century renovation. The building is rendered and features a plain tile roof, situated on a corner site. It has two storeys and four irregularly spaced windows on the first floor. There are two doors on the left side; the left-hand door is off-centre, and both doors have 2-centre arches with dripmoulds above them. The ground floor has three- and four-light mullion and transom windows, also with dripmoulds, while the first floor features additional mullion and transom windows. The eaves are overhanging, and there are three gabled dormers with four-light casement windows and bargeboards, although one dormer is blocked by a stack. The east gable has a 2-centre moulded brick arch, with timber framing above that jetties at the first and attic floors. An oriel window is present on the first floor, and there is an external stair-turret on the rear wall leading into the former house.
