Description
Bagleys House, located in Bagley's Court to the rear of numbers 8 and 10 Pottergate, is a former house that has been converted into shops. It dates from the 18th century, although the rear wall is from the 16th century. The building is rendered, with a flint and brick-dressed rear wall, and features a pantile roof. It is set back from and parallel to the street line, standing three storeys tall with a two-storey lean-to extension on the left side.
The second floor has two widely spaced windows, while the central entrance door is flanked by sunk panel pilasters and has a fluted architrave topped with a small flat hood. There are three steps leading up to the door, which is accompanied by plain iron handrails. The building has sash windows throughout, featuring glazing bars and simply moulded surrounds, with keystones at the ground and first floors. The first floor includes five windows and is topped by a fascia cornice.
