Description
54 High Street is a 16th-century building located in Little Walsingham. It has two storeys, with the ground floor constructed of flint and brick. The first floor features a jettied and timber-framed design, characterized by close-set studding and plastered panels. The building has a steep pantile roof, with a gabled east end and a hipped west corner.
On the first floor, there are five small, widely spaced windows, which include three two-light leaded-pane casements and two fixed-light windows, the right-hand one having thick glazing bars. The ground floor has similar casements but includes transoms, along with two boarded doors, large double doors, and a modern bowed shop front. An off-centre brick chimney stack is present.
On the west end facing High Street, the first floor's timber framing is not jettied. There is a fixed-light ground floor window with glazing bars and a modern glazed door. The building is listed as Grade II* for its group value.
