Description
Number 48 on High Street is a late 15th-century building that stands two storeys tall. The ground floor is constructed of flint and brick, while the first floor features a jettied timber frame with vertical studding and diagonal bracing, finished with plastered panels. On the first floor, there are two small 17th or 18th century two-light casement windows with leaded panes, and on the ground floor, there is one large two-light casement window, also with leaded panes. A flush-panel door is located on the right side of the building. The roof is steep and gable-ended, covered with black-glazed pantiles. The building is situated to the north of the Abbey Gatehouse. At the rear, there is a 15th-century three-light stone window with cusped lights on the first floor.
