Description

Number 47 on High Street is an early 18th-century building that features a mid-19th-century red brick front, complete with a parapet and a modillion cornice. The structure has two storeys and an attic, with four first-floor sash windows that do not have glazing bars, each topped with flat brick arches. On the ground floor to the left, there is a large doorway with a plain surround and a cornice supported by ornate console brackets, along with a rectangular fanlight and a panelled, glazed door. To the right, there is a modern shop front. The building also has three flat-roofed attic dormers and a steep gable-ended roof covered with black-glazed pantiles. The south end of the building is constructed from flint and brick.
