Description
No. 52 High Street is a building dating from the late 17th century to early 18th century, featuring a front that is attached to an earlier core. The structure is made of flint with red brick dressings and has a steep black-glazed pantile roof with gabled ends. It stands two storeys tall with an attic and has four windows. The first floor has a blocked window left of centre. The windows are 17th or 18th century, consisting of 2-light wood mullion and transom casements with leaded panes, with those on the ground floor set in segmental headed openings. To the left of centre is a well-crafted fielded-panel door within a heavy doorcase, which includes a rectangular fanlight with thick glazing bars and a hood supported by shaped brackets. Additionally, there are two small modern flat-roof dormers. The building is listed as Grade II* due to its group value.
