Description
This is a former workhouse dating from the late 18th and early 19th centuries. It is constructed of flint, with some rendered areas and red brick dressings, and has pantiled roofs. The building is arranged on a roughly ‘E’ shaped plan, with one and two storeys. The gables are parapetted and feature tumbling. The windows are mostly modern casements, although a single sash window remains in the central north gable. There are three chimney stacks on the south side, and ridge-line chimney stacks, including one on the central north gable, on the projecting wings. Brick dentil eaves are present. A flint boundary wall stands on the west side of the building.
