Description

Janaway House, dating from the 18th century, includes No 1 Church Street. The building is rendered and colourwashed, featuring a steep pantile roof with parapetted gables. It is two storeys high with an attic and has modern shopfronts supported by fluted pilasters. The windows are sash style. There is a later projecting wing to the west and a good pedimented doorcase along with a Venetian window on the south elevation facing Church Street. Additionally, there is a two-storey parapetted flat-roofed extension to the east and a chimney stack at the south gable.
