Description
This building is a house that was converted from a lofted open shed, located about 20 meters north of Hunworth Hall. It dates back to 1700 and is constructed of flint and brick with a pantile roof. The house has two storeys. The south-east gable is made of flint and features decorative brickwork with hearts and lozenges, along with the date and initials 1700 for Edmund Britiffe, who died in 1726, and Rebecca Britiffe, who died in 1716. This gable was raised from one storey, with the apex made of brick.
The south-west front faces the yard and has a cart shed on the ground floor supported by wooden posts for three openings, which are now glazed. The upper floor features three large 20th-century casement windows with glazing bars. To the left is a brick bay, while the right has a flint and brick bay with a large ground floor door beneath a segmental arch. The north-west gable is made of coursed flint, with the upper part rendered. The rear of the building is brick with a dentil cornice and has many blocked windows and door openings.
Attached to the north-west is a cow shed built in the late 19th century. Its front wall facing the yard is made of flint with brick dressings, while the rear wall is brick in English garden wall bond. The roof is also pantiled and features a raised ridge piece for ventilation. Inside, the building retains original fittings, partitions, a brick sett floor, and a central drain. Part of the front wall also serves as the yard wall for the stock shed.
