Description
Nethergate Farm Barn is an 18th-century threshing barn located in Hindolveston. It is constructed of red brick and covered with red pantiles. The barn features three stead areas, with central cart doors and two ventilation windows that have shutters. It has brick parapets and a lean-to extension at the rear on the west side. The roof consists of five bays, with tie beams that are supported only by wall posts with straight struts on the west side, while on the east side, they rest on the wall plate without struts. Each main truss includes two collars and struts positioned between the tie beam and the lower collar. The barn also has butt purlins and some wind bracing, along with a brick threshing floor.
