Description
Rectory Barn is an early 18th-century barn located off Barnham Road in Euston. It is timber-framed and weatherboarded, standing on a high plinth made of red brick and random flint. The barn features a fully hipped roof covered with black glazed pantiles. The structure consists of three bays, with an entry and a brick threshing-floor situated in the middle bay. It has full height studs and primary braces, while the main beams are chamfered and stopped, complemented by straight braces. The roof is divided into six irregular bays that do not align with the wall-bays, featuring two rows of slightly stepped butt purlins with pared-off ends, raking struts connecting the tie-beams to the purlins, and a deep narrow ridge-piece. Additionally, there is a lean-to addition along part of the south side, constructed from kidney flint and red brick, topped with a pantiled roof.
