Description

Beck Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from around 1700. It is constructed of red brick and covered with black glazed pantiles. The building is two stories high with attics and consists of five bays, with a service wing at the north that forms an 'L' shape on the plan. The ground floor features casement windows with plate glass panes, while the first floor has five 2-light wooden framed casements with lead glazing bars. There is a four-panel door from around 1900, which is topped by a rectangular plate glass fanlight supported by wooden brackets and a simple pedimented canopy. The ground and first floor openings are set under flat rubbed brick arches, with central keystones present only on the ground floor. The farmhouse has a ground floor plinth and a first floor platband, along with a wooden modillion eaves cornice. The steeply pitched hipped roof includes a 2-light casement dormer with leaded panes, located only on the east side. There is a rear eaves stack and the rear wing is also made of red brick and covered with red pantiles. The ground floor has wooden casement windows, while the first floor features three 2-light casements with leaded panes. A single ridge stack is present. Inside, there is a central pile with a dog leg staircase leading to the attic, featuring a common newel, unturned balusters, and a moulded dado and handrail. The ground floor room on the west side includes wooden moulded doors, overdoors, and cornice.
