Description

This is a headstone and monument dedicated to Thomas Wetherall, dated 1710, located 10 metres south of the chancel of the Church of St. James in Hockwold cum Wilton. The monument is made of ashlar stone and has a rectangular shape with a lugged top. The lugs are adorned with fleshy vegetative scrolls and encase a weathered putti head. Below, there is a recessed inscription panel featuring a raised central portion.
