Description
The Red House is a building located on Station Road in Hockwold cum Wilton, dating from the early 18th century. It was originally two houses but has been converted into one. The structure is made of brick on a flint plinth and features a thatched roof. It stands two storeys high with four bays. Each floor has four arched, two-light casements that were added in the 20th century. The roof is gabled, with internal gable end stacks and a central ridge stack also from the 20th century. At the rear, there are two eccentrically placed 20th-century doors behind thatched gabled porches. The ground floor has five arched windows, three of which are leaded, while the first floor has four arched windows, one of which is leaded. The roof line has been raised.
