Description

This is a headstone located 12 meters south of the nave of the Church of St. James in Hockwold cum Wilton, dating from around 1700. It is made of ashlar stone and features an illegible inscription. The headstone has a square shape with a coved set-back top, on which carved skulls are positioned on the shoulders. The inscription panel is framed by drapery folds, which are held by two cherubs. Above the panel is a central crown, along with a relief achievement in the center of the inscription panel.
