Description
The former police call box was built around 1935 and manufactured by Boulton and Paul of Norwich.
This single-storey building has a rectangular shape with a pitched roof and timber-boarded walls. Although the roof structure is still timber-boarded, it has lost its original covering and is currently protected by a temporary tarpaulin. Both the front (east) and rear (west) gables feature triangular pediments with dentil moulding, and the timber-boarded walls are enhanced by plain engaged pilasters. The front elevation includes a central door with a 9-light fixed window above it. On either side of the door are remnants of cupboard doors that once housed a public telephone for contacting the local police station on the left and a first aid kit on the right. Each side elevation has two 9-light fixed windows.
Inside, the walls and floor are also timber boarded. To the right of the door, there is a cupboard box that served as the former first aid station, which is suspended from the wall and has one internal shelf.
