Description
This is a pair of houses located on Gayton Road in Gaywood. They were built in 1693. The house on the east side (number 24) has been whitewashed, while the other (number 22) retains its original brickwork. The roofs are covered with asbestos slate, with a pantile roof on an outshut that abuts the east gable wall.
The houses have two storeys and an attic, with two centrally placed doorways, each with a 20th-century hood. Number 22 has a 20th-century window to the right of the door and another window above it. Number 24 has two cross casement windows to the left of the door, and an early 19th-century three-light casement window above. All ground-floor windows are set beneath segmental arches. The eaves have a saw-toothed cornice. The gabled roof sits on kneelers. A brick ridge stack is situated over the doorways.
