Description
Lodge Farmhouse is a 17th-century farmhouse located on the south side of Lynn Road in Grimston. The building is constructed of brick and features black glazed pantiles, gable parapets, and an internal stack at the end. It has a T-shaped layout with two bays, a single storey, and an attic. The principal facade faces north towards the road and includes a base made of large carstone blocks, a platband, and a central doorway topped with a small coped canopy. There are two flush sash windows with glazing bars arranged in a 4 x 4 pane configuration, all set beneath finely gauged skew back arches. The facade also features three 20th-century dormers.
The right return to the west has a carstone base and is built in English bond with tumbling-in. The rear is also in English bond. A rear wing has a gable made of varied carstone rubble, with the west return partly rebuilt in the 19th century, featuring an upper wall in English bond, a doorway to the left, and a reduced window opening to the right. Inside, there is a large fireplace located in the west return.
