Description

Milestone Farmhouse is a 17th-century farmhouse located on the south side of Main Road in Marlesford. The building features a timber frame with plastered panels, decorated with ropework and two narrow bands of ornamentation between the rows of panels. The north gable end is made of painted brick, and the roof is covered with pantiles.

The farmhouse is a single storey with an attic and has a two-window range with three-light casement windows. The central doorway is framed by a 19th-century porch that has a slated roof and wavy bargeboards on the gables. The door itself is a six-panel design, with the upper four panels glazed and the lower two panels filled in, topped by a semi-circular fanlight with glazing bars.

There are two dormers with shallow pitch gables that contain mid-20th-century windows. Inside, there is an internal stack. On the north side, there is a three-light casement window with square leaded panes. To the east, there is a mid-20th-century wing made of colourwashed brick with a pantiled roof.
