Description
The lodge at the entrance to Marlesford Hall dates from the late 19th century to early 20th century. It is constructed of white brick with rusticated brick quoins and features a thatched roof. This single-storey building is designed in a picturesque style, showcasing two half-hipped gables on the north-west side and one on the south-east side. The south-west gable has oversailing brickwork at the lower part and an incomplete crowstepped parapet. The windows are primarily large mullion and transom casements with square leaded panes. On the north-west side, there is a shallow square bay with roughcast render and a wooden modillion cornice. The doorway features a painted rusticated surround and a five-panel door. On the south-east side, there is a three-bay flat-roofed loggia supported by slender wooden columns, surrounded by trelliswork. The lodge has three stacks, each topped with a modillion cornice.
