Description

This 18th-century dovecote, located approximately 60 meters northwest of the Old Hall in Middleton, is constructed from gault brick with a carstone base. The roof is currently flat and thatched. The dovecote measures 3.44 meters square and features a central doorway on the south side, which has louvres above and a hinged entrance flap. Each of the left and right sides has one blocked opening, while the rear has a blank opening. Inside, there are nine rows of seven holes on each face. This structure is included for its group value with the nearby Old Hall.
