Description
This is an 18th-century dovecote located 15 meters northwest of Marwell Hall. It is constructed from rubble flint with some reused stone and features brick dressings, topped with an old plain tile roof. The dovecote has a square plan and includes a three-centred arch doorway on one side, with nesting boxes in the opposite wall, which is much thicker and has internal brick skins; these nesting boxes have mostly been bricked up. The other sides feature a two-light casement window with a segmental head. The roof is hipped and has a wrought iron weathervane. Inside, the dovecote was converted into a dairy in the 19th century, showcasing a patterned tile floor and remnants of wall tiling, with plaster above and an inserted ceiling.
