TF6219NW STONEGATE STREET 610-1/10/252 (South side) Walls enclosing Jewish Cemetery

Rectangular brick compound. C16 with later repairs. In use as a Jewish Cemetery 1811-1846. English bond brickwork. East and north sides are C16, the former with carstone lower courses. Sloping bricks as coping. Later walls have either corbelled brick coping or soldier courses. Entrance gate in centre of north wall. Timber plank door with an iron grille lunette under a semi-circular arch. The area enclosed by these walls contains 17 whole or broken headstones with Hebrew script.
