Description
The walls enclosing the Jewish Cemetery in King's Lynn are a rectangular brick compound dating from the 16th century, with later repairs. The cemetery was in use from 1811 to 1846. The brickwork is in English bond, with the east and north sides originating from the 16th century; the east side features carstone lower courses. The tops of the walls are finished with sloping bricks as coping, while the later sections have either corbelled brick coping or soldier courses. There is an entrance gate in the center of the north wall, which consists of a timber plank door with an iron grille lunette set under a semi-circular arch. Inside the enclosed area, there are 17 whole or broken headstones that bear Hebrew script.
