Description

The war memorial in Tower Gardens, located on St James' Street in King's Lynn, commemorates those who served in the First World War, with additional inscriptions relating to the Second World War. Designed by Oswald Milne and completed in 1921, the memorial is made of stone and features an octagonal plinth with three steps. Above the plinth is a square pedestal adorned with fielded panels on each side that bear inscriptions. The chamfered edges of the pedestal include panels listing the names of battles. Atop the pedestal is a square base that supports an octagonal shaft, which culminates in a Latin cross.
