Description
Westgate House is a house from the second half of the 18th century, located in Burnham Market on Market Place. It is constructed of red brick and has a slate roof. The building is two stories high and features three bays. There are two ground floor and three first floor sash windows with glazing bars, all set under flat rubbed brick arches.
The house has a prominent central wooden doorcase that includes fluted pilasters, a frieze decorated with lozenges, and an arched fanlight with radial glazing bars that extends into a baseless pediment. The entrance features a four-panel raised and fielded door with reveals, an eight-panel raised and fielded door, and a panelled intrados to the arch. The first floor has a platband, and the gable ends are coped with parapets, each having two end stacks.
