Description
The Firs is a house located on Southwold Road in Wrentham, dating from the early 19th century. It features a gable end facing the road and is constructed of red brick with a slated roof. The building is two storeys high and has a symmetrical three-bay facade. The sash windows, which have glazing bars and are set in flush frames, are topped with cambered brick arches; however, the ground floor windows have been replaced in the mid-20th century. The entrance includes a six-panel raised and fielded door with panelled reveals and a rectangular fanlight adorned with ornamental cast iron glazing bars. The door's architrave is decorated with diagonal reeding on either side of a broad central flute, complemented by corner roundels. An open flat-roofed porch supported by fluted columns enhances the entrance.
