Description
Wrentham House is a house with an early 19th-century facade that has undergone 20th-century alterations and additions, and it likely has an 18th-century core. The building is constructed of red brick with a pale yellow brick facade that was formerly colourwashed, topped with a hipped pantiled roof. It stands three storeys high with single-storey flanking wings that are very slightly set back. The facade is symmetrical with three bays featuring sash windows that have glazing bars in flush frames, all under flat brick arches; these windows once had paired shutters. A porch was added around 1923, which includes fluted pilasters, a triglyph frieze, and a cornice, along with an inset 19th-century panelled door and a plain rectangular fanlight with panelled reveals. The wings have matching square bays, likely built at the same time as the porch. The main block features a wooden eaves cornice that replaced the original stone balustrading, which still exists on the wings.
