Description
The barn at Gatehouse Farm, located approximately 50 meters west of the Church of St. Mary, dates from the 17th century. It features a timber frame resting on a brick base, with cladding made of tarred weather boards and a roof covered in pantiles. The barn has three sections, with large central doors on the east side and smaller central doors on the west side. The brick base is constructed in English bond, with each course set back. Inside, the barn has a three-tier butt purlin roof, which has been partially renewed. It includes braced massive ties, with three braces that have also been renewed, along with added king posts and struts to the ties.
