Barn At Church Farm

The barn at Church Farm dates from the 17th century and later. It features red brick on the eastern side and is timber framed with weatherboarding on the western side. The barn has a steeply pitched roof covered with corrugated iron sheeting, which has replaced the original thatch. There is a large double door opening in the center of the north wall, although the doors are missing. To the east of the doorway, there is a brick wall with two buttresses. A brick lean-to is located on the south side, opposite the doorway, and the western section of the south wall has been rebuilt in 20th-century blockwork. The roof contains two tiers of staggered butt-purlins, with some curved wind braces remaining on the upper purlin. The western side features jowled principal posts with tie beams, and there are braces from the posts to the wall plate and gable tie. A six-light window is present in the west gable. The barn is included for its group value.
