Description
The Garden House east of Kirby Cane Hall is a 17th century building constructed of red brick, with a roof obscured by a parapet. It is two storeys high and has a square plan. The brickwork features irregular panels separated by pilasters and platbands. The south wall contains a doorway with a semicircular arched opening set in a square-headed recess, flanked by windows that have similar detailing and glazing bars. The window arches feature plain keystones and imposts. Above the doorway is an inserted four-light casement with a transom, and there are four openings, or heads of earlier window lights, above it. The building is topped with a castellated parapet that has brick copings. The openings in the east and west walls have been significantly altered. A pennant weathervane is mounted on the roof.
