Description
The barn south of Hales Hall is a late 15th-century structure built of red brick with blue brick diapering. It features a steep roof clad in corrugated iron and has a large crow-stepped gable, with a brick chimney on the west gable. The walls are punctuated by ventilation loops. On the north side, there are two large double doorways, while the south side has three later doorways with segmental arches. Inside, the roof consists of eleven bays supported by collar-beams on braces and queen posts, with an additional three bays at the east end featuring king-posts above the queen-posts. The east end is floored and includes a brick fireplace with a four-centred arch.
