Description
Summerend Farmhouse is an 18th-century farmhouse constructed of brick with pantile roofing and gable parapets. The building consists of three cells plus a chimney bay and is two storeys high. It features a platband, a dentil cornice, an axial stack on the left, and an internal stack at the right end. The ground floor has various openings with different heads, including a blocked doorway to the chimney bay and two other doorways, along with three windows. The first floor has three blocked openings situated between alternate two and three-light casements. The returns are finished in English bond with an eavesband, and the right return has chalk at its base, a blocked attic window, and an inserted ground floor window on the left return. At the rear, there is a continuous added outshut in English bond. Inside, there is a large axial stack with a bread oven at the rear, and the principal beams have plain run-out stops.
