BOUGHTON CHAPEL ROAD The Poplars

House. c.1830, enlarged 1870. Gault brick with slate roof. T plan. 2 storeys in 5 bays of balanced asymmetry. Panelled central door within case of fluted demi-columns under square entablature. 4 sashes to ground floor and 5 to first floor, all with glazing bars under gauged skewback arches. Facade articulated into 8 bays of differing sizes defined by sunk pilasters with 3 dentils each. Double modillion eaves cornice. Hipped roof with 2 symmetrically placed ridge stacks.
