Description

The Poplars is a house built around 1830 and enlarged in 1870. It is constructed of gault brick and has a slate roof, following a T plan. The building has two storeys and features five bays that are asymmetrically balanced. The central door is panelled and set within a case of fluted demi-columns, topped with a square entablature. There are four sash windows on the ground floor and five on the first floor, all with glazing bars and set under gauged skewback arches. The facade is divided into eight bays of varying sizes, defined by sunk pilasters that each have three dentils. The roof is hipped and has two ridge stacks that are symmetrically placed.
