Description
Addison House is a house built around 1830, constructed from local gault brick and topped with slate roofs. It is two storeys high and includes cellars, designed in an L-shape with flanking shaped garden walls that frame a symmetrical three-bay facade. The main entrance features a six-panelled door set within a wooden doorcase that has a broken pediment and fluted pilasters, along with panelled reveals and a reeded round arch over the fanlight. The facade includes two sixteen-paned recessed hung sash windows with cambered brick arches on the ground floor and three similar windows on the first floor, as well as three nine-paned windows on the second floor. The building has a plain parapet and gable parapets with stone coping, along with end chimney stacks. Inside, notable features include the original staircase and panelled doors.
