Description

The Manor House is a house dating from the late 17th or early 18th century, situated on the east side of Dodington Road in Wimblington. It is constructed of local red brick, with buff brick detailing, and has a plain tile hipped roof. The building is two storeys high, forming an L-shaped plan. A tall central brick chimney stack is visible, along with features such as a brick band and plinth. The eaves have a deep wooden modillioned cornice, which has been restored. The windows are late 19th-century, with four panes in hung sash windows, margin glazing bars, and segmental brick arches with stone sills. There is a 19th-century four-panelled front door with a rectangular fanlight above. The interior includes large corner chimney pieces on both floors, though the room to the south has been altered to accommodate a 19th-century staircase and chimney.
