Description
Bayfields is a house and shop, now used as offices, dating from around 1700. The building is constructed of flint and carstone, with a brick facade. It has a pantile roof and stands two storeys tall. On the ground floor, there are two blocked sash windows beneath gauged arches, and between them is a blocked door that once featured a pediment. To the right, there is a blocked bay window that originally served as a shop front with a central door. The first floor has three sash windows with glazing bars, and there is a dentil eaves cornice below the gabled roof. A ridge stack is located to the left of centre, and the gable ends show tumbling. Inside, the building retains a winder staircase at the rear of the stack, doors with H hinges, and an early 18th-century butt purlin roof with collars.
