Description

Stoke Ferry War Memorial is a First World War memorial, erected around 1920, with additions for the Second World War. It is located in the Town Square, next to the churchyard of All Saints’ on High Street in Stoke Ferry, Norfolk. The memorial features a roughly hewn grey granite wheel-head cross, approximately 3 meters tall, set on a tapering plinth that has a two-stepped stone base. Each corner of the wider lower step is marked by four low stone bollards. The lower part of the shaft and the front face of the plinth display inscriptions on marble panels. The incised and blacked inscription reads: "IN HONOURED MEMORY OF OUR GALLANT FALLEN FROM THIS VILLAGE IN THE GREAT WAR 1914 – 1918 (NAMES) WORLD WAR 1939 – 1945 (NAMES)."
