Description

This former dovecote, located 25 metres south-east of Tudor Lodgings, dates back to the 16th century. It underwent major repairs in 1880, as noted on an inscribed plaque at the rear, and had another significant repair in the late 20th century. The structure is built from knapped and galletted flint with keyed brick dressings, and includes some clunch. It has a pantile roof and is square in plan. There is one full height opening off-centre to the north and a former diagonal buttress at the south-east corner. The pyramidal roof is topped with a modern lantern. Inside, there are mutilated nesting boxes made of brick and clunch.
