Description
No. 63 and 64 on Bailey Street is a house that dates back to the late Medieval period, with significant additions from the 18th and 19th centuries that are not considered of special interest. The main structure is built of flint with brick headers, and it features limestone ashlar dressings. The roof is covered with pantiles. The gable-end wall at the returned end has a former exterior face to the north, which is now hidden by later buildings on both sides. The western return of the house contributes to the street facade. There is a plinth with chamfered ashlar coping and a small rectangular window with a chamfered reveal. Inside, the entire length of the gable-end and an eastern return, which is identical to the western one, can be seen. The building to the south likely replaced a Medieval timber-framed structure.
