Description

House. Dated 1735, it may incorporate an earlier structure. The north face is of knapped flint rubble, while the west gable is of coursed squared knapped flint, with brick dressings and a red pantiled roof. The house is two storeys high with five windows. On the ground floor are two outer sash windows with glazing bars, and two central canted windows dating to the 20th century. There is a boarded door with a flush gabled architrave. Five first-floor windows are 2-light casements with glazing bars, accompanied by brick aprons, rustication, and cambered arches. Brick quoins are present. The west gable features an attic level brick plat-band, tumbling, and a plaque bearing the initials MJM dated 1765. The roof is steeply pitched, with one east party wall and one west gable end stack. A two-storey wing of flint, brick, and pantiled construction is located at the rear, to the south.
