Description
This is a house dating from the early 18th century, with later alterations and a 19th-century addition. The front has an unknapped flint plinth and is constructed of unknapped flint with brick dressings, topped with an old plain-tile roof. A brick stack is located inside the rear left section, and another brick stack is at the right end. The house has two storeys and a three-window front. The central entrance features a six-panel, part-glazed door with a fluted Corinthian pilaster surround supporting a cornice. A twelve-pane sash window, without horns, is set within an architrave surround to the left, and a horizontal sash with a segmental brick head sits to the right. Two-light casements are found on the first floor. A brick dentil course runs along the eaves.
At the rear left is a cross-wing with a higher half-hipped plain-tile roof. A red brick addition is located to the right, built in a Flemish bond pattern with flared brick headers and a Welsh slate hipped roof. This section includes a 20th-century sash door. A flint wall with brick dressings and coping, approximately 2 metres high and 80 metres long, runs along the rear left boundary. The interior of the original house has not been inspected.
