Description
No. 18 Wood Street is a house with a front range dating to the mid-18th century, although a rear range may be older. The house has a grey brick plinth and is constructed of grey brick with red brick dressings, topped with an old plain-tile roof that is half-hipped on the left side, with a brick end stack on the right. The front of the building presents a three-window arrangement over two storeys. A central six-panel door is adorned with a decorative fanlight and a flat hood supported by shaped brackets. The ground floor windows are 20-pane unhorned sashes with cambered brick heads on either side of the door. A flat brick band separates the ground and first floors. The first floor features a central 15-pane unhorned sash with a cambered brick head, and 20-pane unhorned sashes with cambered brick heads to the left and right. A dentil course runs along the eaves. The interior has not been inspected.
