Description
This is a dovecote located about 30 yards west of Clent House, dating from the early 18th century and featuring late 20th-century repairs. It is constructed from handmade bricks and has a machine-tiled pyramidal roof with swept eaves, built on a square plan with two levels. The lower level includes a semi-circular headed archway on each side, with shallow walls at the base of the north and south archways. The east and west archways are open and supported by brick buttresses. The upper level has a circular opening in both the east and west elevations, while the south elevation features a small access door. At the top of the roof, there is a timber lantern that has three tiers of alighting ledges and holes, topped with a swept pyramidal lead roof and a finial. This lantern is a 20th-century replica of the original.
